In the sun-kissed paradise of Marbella, Spain, a dream was born. Dave and Maeve Dempsey, two passionate yacht lovers, envisioned a radio station that would serve the global yacht industry, providing valuable content and insights across various sectors. In 2009, Superyacht Radio took its maiden voyage, offering a unique platform for those within the industry to connect, relax, learn, and thrive.

After many successful years in the Spanish sunshine, Dave returned to his Irish roots, relocating the station back home and decided later to hand over the Superyacht Radio.

Walter, author of the book on Superyacht Sales got the opportunity to be the one to take over and relaunch this great valuable Radio.

However, this pause proved to be a blessing in disguise. I, Walter U. Schmid, seized the opportunity to revive and reinvigorate Superyacht Radio, bringing it into the digital era while preserving its classic charm. My mission is to transform the Superyacht Radio into a modern hub for the yachting industry, fostering connections, sharing knowledge, and creating a space for interaction. Newly not only for yachting but for the entire “Yacht Economy” that includes real estate, private jet’s, luxury cars, luxury items and much more.
